Whether it’s in your yard, beach, lake, or boardwalk  Spring Lake has a lot of great areas for family portraiture. Not only do we photograph children and families in Spring Lake we also photograph a lot of extended families. Grandparents, children, and grandchildren in one portrait makes up for the majority of our portrait photography. During the summer months most of our portrait photography is captured on the beach. Spring and Fall we photography most of our portraits at the lake or at people homes in both their front and backyard. Our Spring Lake Beach Portraits

The best time of day for your family beach portrait session is typically an hour before sunset. This is always the case on a clear day. However, there are times when it’s very cloudy outside and we would need to start earlier in this situation. The reason for this is because the sun will be too bright if we start any earlier. However, we understand that a lot of photographers will photography families on the beach, however they won’t get the great lighting that we always do. When choosing your beach portrait photographer make sure that the subjects aren’t squinting into the camera.

Furthermore, make sure that the photographer that you are hiring has examples of the same type of photography that you are looking for. An example is if you are looking to have an extended family portrait taken. Make sure the photographer has a lot of examples of this. Many photographers can do a great job photographing a child or two, however they lack the ability to capture great composition and expressions with large groups. Need a headshot?
