I am a portrait photographer specializing in people and, at times, dogs. Some of my areas of expertise are family portraits, beach portraits, corporate photography, dog portraits. I’ve always have enjoyed photographing people of all ages. From toddlers to people in their nineties, engaging with people is always something that I have enjoyed. 

My Goal as a Portrait Photographer

My goal as a portrait photographer is to make it fun. It’s nice to hear time after time just that, how it was a good experience for everyone that is involved. When everyone is having fun, they also look great in their portraits. Everybody having fun in their portraits has always been important to me. I compare it to have a fantastic meal at a restaurant, but the service wasn’t any good. Although the food was great, the experience wasn’t. My clients end up with great portraits and a fun experience. 

Many Portrait Photographers are Busier Than Ever

Ten years ago, photographers like myself were worried about where the portrait photography industry was heading. After all, many crafts, industries, and businesses striving ten years ago no longer exist. People often ask me that everyone has a camera on them all the time if it has affected my business. I can proudly say, not at all. I’ve been fortunate that my photography business is busier than it has ever been, and unfortunately, during certain times of the year, I have to turn down business. It comforting that people still appreciate a well-composed family portrait. For some people, some things aren’t worth doing themselves. 

There’s an old saying that I remind myself every so often: “Adjust or Fail.” however, this doesn’t mean that we didn’t have to change the way we do things. We certainly did. Like most businesses, there were many adjustments with what to offer, pricing, and finding out the place where it’s a win/win for both the photographer and client.
