I have recently received my FAA Drone Certificate. This certificate, which was received upon the conclusion of the FAA Part 107 test, allows me to offer aerial stills and video to commercial businesses. I am looking forward to adding this to my New Jersey commercial real estate photography.

New Jersey Drone Photographer
After seeing many New Jersey property management companies posting their new buildings on LinkedIn, I could tell that photographers weren’t taking these videos or pictures. Instead, it was employees with a drone. With the time spent from start to finish completing a building, it was always disappointing that property managers and commercial real estate companies would use poor pictures and videos with their press releases.
As a result, I saw an opportunity to change this while learning something new and making an impact. During the 2020 pandemic lockdown, I purchased a drone, and I had a lot of time on my hands to work on my technique and master editing video. The good thing for me is that photography with a drone or a handheld camera is the same. It’s about lighting, composition, and editing.
FAA Part 107 New Jersey Drone Pilot
From there, I studied for the FFA Part 107 test that allows me to do drone photography for commercial use. Anyone who will put a drone in the air, even if it’s for their own company, needs to be certified by the FAA. This includes a residential realtor, and you want to use drone images on your website; legally, you aren’t allowed to do that unless you are a certified drone pilot.
Cinematic Impactful Drone Photography
My goal as I branch out into the business of Drone Photography is to make everything I capture a work of art. Something that my clients and I are proud to post and use in our marketing materials. To me, there seems to be a lot of upside on how commercial real estate businesses and property management companies can make their properties stand out from their competitors.
