Fall Portraits

Before we know it, the fall foliage will be popping with beautiful earth tone colors. Oranges, reds, yellows, greens, and browns will be consuming the trees through New Jersey. As a result, it’s a beautiful time of year for family fall portraits.

New Jersey Family Portraits

After photographing families at the beach all summer, I always look forward to being back at places like the Reeves-Reed Arboretum in Summit, the Deep Cut Gardens in Holmdel, or the Cross Estates in Bernardsville.

Posing families is much more fun at arboretums. They have a variety of different sections that have different looks. If you turn the family around 90 degrees, there’s a whole new beautiful backdrop. Furthermore, stairs, garden benches, and other built-in props make the family portrait composition more interesting.

Our 15th Annual Toy Session

The cooler weather with the fall colors is also a good reminder that it’s our Annual Toy Session Drive. Through November, donate a brand new toy with a value of $35.00, and your portrait session will be free. The toys will be distributed to the Missy’s Miracle Foundation, and they will hand them off to children who are staying at local hospitals. All of this happens while you save $200.00, which is the cost of our portrait session fee. From there, you can choose from one of our portrait collections. We offer digital, printed, and hybrid portrait collections.

Timeless Family Portraits

My goal is to create timeless family portraits for you that will pass the test of time. A portrait that you can display on your wall as a central focus point. I can also help you with the design of the portrait session by being apart where the portrait might be hung. From there, we will decide the best style of the portrait, clothing attire so your portrait seamlessly fits into the spot you would like to display your family portrait.

Fall Family Portrait Styles

Before your portrait session, we will discuss how you envision your family portrait. A lot of this will depend upon how old your children are, the location of your sitting, and what you will be ending up doing with your images. I will start out with the more relaxed posed family portraits first. From there, we will go into a more candid approach if that’s what you would like. This is because if you start out with a candid approach first, the children will often have difficulty calming down for their relaxed posed portraits. When I use the term pose, I don’t mean stiff and boring. A simple pose is usually more desired because it’s easier to make everyone look their best. Furthermore, these types of images often are the types of pictures my clients hang on their walls.

Multiple Generation Family Fall Portraits.

Many families decide to have a multiple-generation portrait taken during their fall portrait session. Grandparents, children, and grandchildren all in one image make for a beautiful family heirloom. During these sessions, I’ll photograph all the different combinations. The Large Group, grandparents and the grandchildren, each individual families, each family’s children separate, couples, and whatever other types of combinations you would like. A portrait of all the women, or all the men, is also a popular grouping.

Besides wall portraits, our clients often make family albums from these pictures. I have many flushed mounted albums to choose from; it’s a great way to utilize all the portraits without them being scattered in different rooms of your home. These albums can be nicely displayed on an easel in the family room.

About Me

I’ve been a professional portrait photographer since 1993. My love for photography started when I was fifteen years old. My father, who was a shutterbug, always had a camera around his neck. Every basketball, baseball, and soccer game, he was taking action pictures. During this time, my friends and I were into doing tricks on our bikes. As a result, I use to sneak my dad’s camera out of his camera back, and we all use to take pictures of ourselves doing endos, bike surfing, jumping large mounds, and so on.

Since I like taking pictures so much, I took a photography class in High School and college, and here I am. Photographing families all through New Jersey.
